Suspended from a trapezoidal ribbon mount, this circular Order of the Red Banner is classified as "Type IV" variation.
The mint mark is stamped in two words in a straight line. The serial number, "164114" is hand-engraved and place the
issue date some time in 1944. Enamel is in good condition. Entire medal and mount show good patina, II

Tall black felt cover shako with pierced metal side vents. Has a black leather crown, band and visor. Obverse has a red
wool pompom and tuft, silver and green painted metal St. Gallen canton cockade with brass holder embossed with a
flaming bomb over crossed cannon and a unit number "1." Complete with leather liner and a partial chinstrap, and an
artistically rendered paper maker's label on the crown interior. Shows very light wear for its age but does have a small
hole piercing the crown. A good specimen of a mid-19th century European shako. II

Tall black felt cover shako with pierced metal side vents. Has a black leather crown, band and visor. Obverse has a
white and green wool pompom and red tuft, white and blue painted metal Zurich canton cockade with nickel holder and
a silver star burst plate pierced with the unit number "38." Interior complete with leather liner and chinstrap, and
several issue markings. Has normal age and service wear along the edges of the leather and a single 2 cm long area of
moth damage on the felt between the cockade and left vent in addition to some lighter scattered mothing. A classic
mid-19th century European shako. II

Black felt shako with pierced metal side vents, black leather crown, band and front and rear visors. Obverse has a
black and red wool pompom, red, white and black painted metal Glarus canton cockade with nickel holder, and unit
number "85" flanked by two stars indicating a Landwehr battalion. Complete with leather liner, chinstrap present but
the stitching has come loose on one side and there is a partial tear and a period repair. Crown interior has a nice
period manufacturer's a paper label with illustrations of a shako and Jager hat. This example reflects the French
influence on Swiss uniform design during this period. II

Model 1888 leather shako, the body covered in black felt with metal grommet side vents. Has a black leather crown,
band and front and rear visors. Obverse has a 2nd. Company green and white wool pompom, white and green painted
metal St. Gallen canton cockade, brass infantry crossed rifle insignia and unit number "65" flanked by two stars
indicating a Landwehr battalion. Interior complete with leather liner and chinstrap, and the remnant of a paper label
with partial issue date "190_." A well preserved example showing the top quality expected of Swiss made goods. II+

Swiss designed helmet which was highly influenced by the American Number 5 experimental helmet. Retains 90%
olive gray finish with two vent hold on the reverse of the crown. Interior has a German style three pad leather liner
on a cloth covered band and a second pattern leather chinstrap with a snap hook connector adopted in 1924. A rare
helmet issued until 1943 when the existing stocks were refinished in the textured dark gray finish found on the
common surplus Swiss helmets. II

Virtually a complete set of basic equipment for an infantryman. Includes a brown leather belt with japanned buckle,
two double pocket cartridge pouches, entrenching tool with leather cover, horse hair covered rigid knapsack with
leather shoulder slings and equipment straps, splinter pattern camouflaged shelter half, tent poles and carry bag, brown
wool blanket with red end stripes and white Geneva crosses, brush set in canvas holder, salt and pepper canvas bread
bag, canteen with cup, brandy flask and canvas and leather reserve ammunition pouch. Also includes a field gray
painted aluminum mess kit with spoon and fork combination, and base mounted field stove with burner, gas mask with
canvas carry bag, three different first aid dressings, a bag with gun cleaning tools and a whistle, and four additional
leather equipment straps. All pieces show normal service wear and the mess kit strap buckle has verdigris oxidation. A
difficult to assemble set with some very scarce components. II
