The British Red Cross Society Technical badges were instituted in 1914 and were eligible to members of the Voluntary
Aid Detachments with professional qualifications, A very nice, early example of a British Red Cross Society Technical
Badge with "Trained Nurse" bar and three War Service Bar, spanning 1916-18. Reverse has engraved official issue
number "534" and inscribed "ANNIE WALKER" along with several impressed silver hallmarks. The National Archives
at Kew lists Annie Walker as serving in Queen Alexandria's Imperial Military Nursing Service (WO 399/8616) and the
Territorial Force Nursing Service (WO 399/15257). Extremely attractive Red Cross Medal with a very good
foundation for further research. Heavy tarnish on reverse of planchet and ribbon is dark with age, II

Military Medal has had the rim renamed in engraved capital letters, "2767 SGT. T.H. HAMILTON 1st CO. OF
LOND. Y." The County of London Yeomanry (Middlesex Hussars) were at Gallipoli, so this would be a fantastic
medal, if confirmed. Unfortunately, our research just hasn't been able to do that. Hamilton's Medal Roll Card doesn't
mention entitlement to a Military Medal. The card adds to the confusion by indicating Hamilton's correct name is
actually "H.H. TRUMAN." In addition to the rim being "skimmed" and renamed, the colors of the correct ribbon have
run together. So, we are pricing this as if it were an unnamed Military Medal in less than very good condition Here's a
good opportunity to buy a Military Medal "on the cheap." Further research could reveal it is something quite nice, III+
