the front, and "J.Q.M.D. / 1935" on the reverse. Leather strap assembly remains in good pliable condition and is
Pecard-free. Base has attachment thong threaded through the strap. Normal light wear and stains. II

contained several of these gems, and are happy to say that these are by far the nicest ones yet. Canteen has just a few
small enamel dings, retains domed black plastic cap and chain. Base is marked "U.S. / VOLLRATH / 1942" Cup has a
few very minor dings along the lip, but remains in excellent overall condition. Handle is marked "U.S. / L.F.&C. /
1942".
Includes Jeffersonville Quartermaster Depot 1942 dated canteen cover. Rare set, II

Black enamel canteen with the very scarce blue enameled cup. You find the enameled iron canteens fairly often, but
the cups as scarce as roadkill within 50 miles of a burgoo festival. We have had only a handful up until purchasing a
collection recently that contained several of these gems. Do not mistake their abundance on this particular catalog as
a population comeback.. they truly are hard to find! Canteen has black enamel finish with several large dings as
usually encountered, with black plastic cap and metal chain. Base is marked "U.S. / VOLLRATH / 1942". Cup has
enamel dings around the lip and base with light rust, and the metal handle is corroded. Handle is marked, but the date is
not legible. A bit rough, but your friends will still swoon when they see the cup in your display. III
