cm x 38cm x 36cm (21" x 15" x 14") sheet metal box has the same original 'primer red' finish that you typically
find on boxes meant for service in ambulances, but this one is likely intended for use in a field hospital or other
facility. Sides are embossed with Medical Corps caduceus insignias, and "MED. DEPT. U.S.A.", also has stenciled
"
SURGICAL DRESSINGS / PAR. 955." in black, with "70 LBS. / 3 CU. FT." on the front. Has hinged lid with latch
closure, and thick wire bail handles on the sides. Nice background texture item for a Medical Corps display. II

cm tall galvanized tin folding candle lantern with isinglass windows and wire handle. Top is embossed by "US"
flanked by Commissary Corps crescent moon insignias, as well as "The Stonebridge Folding Lantern Pat'd", with
patent dates and contractor address. Isinglass has normal wear but remains intact, and interior is covered with soot
from use. Also has two original candles which have welded themselves to the front side from long storage in the heat
of midwestern US summer, easily removed if you wish. Has soldier's name and rank stenciled on the back. Scarce to
find one with genuine military markings; the same lantern was available commercially but without insignia. II

W. Lacey / 139 B 107th FA / 28th Div." His pair of identification tags are stamped "ORIE H. LACEY" with "U.S.A."

insignia, honorable discharge chevron, and two overseas service chevrons. His uniform also includes a nice olive drab

honorable discharge chevron, and Second Corps School shoulder insignia comprised of padded blue and red silk thread

High quality private purchase dark olive drab wool twill tunic has French style welted buttonholes, bronze US Engineer
buttons, "US" and "T" discs, British style Corporal rank chevrons, two bullion overseas service chevrons, honorable
discharge chevron, and a very nice wool applied and bullion embroidered 38th Division shoulder insignia which is
decoratively sewn to the sleeve. Interior has French tailor's label inscribed with this soldier's name, which matches his
unit marked ID tags. Tags were found in the pocket, and do not have the neck cord. Also in the pocket: Corporal
rank chevron with Quartermaster Corps insignia. Includes his wool wrap puttees and Indiana VFW overseas cap. Coat
has just a few small holes, an eraser size hole on the right shoulder, and is missing one of the bronze Engineer buttons
from his upper left chest pocket. Interesting - this was likely a uniform made originally with an Engineer officer in
mind, then purchased and customized for this 38th Division NCO. Includes wool wrap puttees. II

chevrons, honorable discharge chevron, and American Embarkation Center shoulder sleeve insignia comprised of black

DALE". Uniform came to us with a private purchase overseas cap, small sewing kit in a zippered pouch, some
newspaper clippings, souvenir postcards, and material from the VFW in Saginaw, Michigan. These were the guys every
doughboy wanted to see - they manned the facilities at Lemans, France through which members of the AEF leaving
Europe for the US had to pass! Coat has just a few small pinholes, very nice overall. II

Issue olive drab rubberized fabric poncho with center neck opening and olive drab painted 'sun ray' riveted utility
buttons. Has water stains (imagine that - water stains on a rain poncho), soiling, some paint splatters and other
associated storage schmutz.. and it was apparently displayed in a window: UV has faded portions of the fabric where it
was exposed, but the portions that were protected from the sunlight remain darker. No visible contract stamp. That's
the bad news. The good news is that there are no notable holes or tears and it remains in good pliable condition and
due to the fading you can add this to your collection for less than half of what a premium example would cost (when
and if you find one!) Scarce piece of doughboy gear. III+
